About Sam Goldberg

Sam is a Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker (LLMSW) practicing in Ann Arbor, MI. Sam has Bachelors of Arts in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and her Masters of Social Work also from the University of Michigan. She works with children/adolescents and adults of all ages. I work from a client-centered approach, as I believe each individual may require a slightly different therapeutic approach. Generally, my theoretical orientation comes from attachment theory and psychodynamic therapy approaches. I have also worked significantly with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), though I am very understanding that these approaches do not work well with every client, and am always open to feedback from clients on what is and isn’t working for them. I enjoy utilizing play therapy with children/adolescents, and believe that adults can also benefit from activities/games within the therapeutic setting.
