PRONOUNS: THEY/THEM
Often in life, we can feel like our experiences or problems are so unique, that we can feel alone and isolated. Finding a safe space where you feel seen and heard can feel like such an obstacle, but that is the exact space I provide in my therapy practice. I hold space to process complicated feelings, work through complex situations, and create an environment where every client and person who enters my office feels safe, seen, heard, and loved. My passion is to make therapy accessible and feasible for as many people as possible, and advocate and educate that therapy is for everyone! Specifically, I work alongside my clients to help them achieve their goals and dreams, and be their most authentic selves.
About Dean Ray
Dean Ray is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) practicing in Ann Arbor, MI. Dean has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Studies from Eastern Michigan University, and a Masters of Arts Degree in School Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.
Dean’s everyday mission in their everyday interactions is to have people feel seen, heard, safe, and loved. They are passionate about the fact that everyone deserves love, respect, and dignity exactly as they are at this very moment. Overall, Dean will meet each client where they are at to decide which approach will best serve them in therapy. Most often, Dean works from Client/Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Mindfulness theoretical frameworks.
Dean believes that in order to find peace and balance, it is vital to take time and space to process difficult emotions and situations. Therapy is a place to intentionally take time for ourselves, and to give ourselves unconditional love while processing our individual circumstances with integrity and grace. Dean finds that taking time to identify what is taking up a lot of our time and energy, and intentionally setting goals, and identifying strategies that can help better those specific situations, will yield results emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This includes varying approaches to exploring those areas of need, and Dean will be there with you in session every step of the way doing that work. Dean offers both in-person counseling and online counseling.
