Therapy with Jessica:
My goal as a counselor is to support you and guide you to greater understanding and growth. I work with adults within an existential framework to understand how the past impacts you now, gain insight into harmful patterns of behavior, understand and tolerate difficult emotions, and develop compassion for yourself. I value working with engaged individuals to create a supportive and strong relationship in which you can express your most authentic self and feel comfortable being vulnerable. I have an understanding and genuine presence and value connection with individuals as the expert of their own lived experiences.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with experience treating adults and young adults with a range of mental health concerns. My clinical training and experience focused on anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and LGBTQ+ issues. I previously practiced in community mental health and college counseling at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Eastern Michigan University. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oakland University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana State University.
