Tim Wilkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) practicing in Ann Arbor, MI. Tim is currently a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology through Fielding Graduate University, where his research interests are in mind-body interaction and the influence of nutrition and lifestyle on mental health.
Tim is passionate about helping people identify and explore what is holding them back and desires to assist them on their journey toward achieving their goals. In therapy, Tim tailors his counseling style based on the client’s needs. Generally, Tim works from Existential, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Psychodynamic theoretical frameworks.
Tim believes it is important to focus on meaning in the context of one’s life, as well as how people are affected physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually by their struggles. Tim sees value in exploring with his clients the mind-body interaction. This includes identifying where emotions may be stuck in the body and working methods to release them in a healthy way.
